SPITFIRE Mk. 1 a
For the model building experience of a lifetime, nothing compares with building and flying a scale Spitfire, especially this one which builds and flies beautifully. We have completely re-engineered the components to enable the builder to create a very accurate model from this 3D jigsaw puzzle. The construction uses some methods that are unusual but fully rewarding at the end of the build. The aircraft is all wood construction (no foam), it incorporates all inboard aileron and flap linkages as does the full size. All parts are pre-cut with the exception of the sheeting. Our SPITFIRE is 81" span for up to 40cc engines, however, don't let the wingspan put you off if you only have a small car (the wing splits in two). The building is made easier by the precision laser-cut parts throughout the airframe which is then fully sheeted, resulting in an extremely strong & lightweight construction. Only for those with good building experience.

The kit contains all the necessary wooden parts along with GRP cowl, Ally Spinner, Vac formed exhaust stacks, underbelly parts & clear canopy, also a comprehensive hardware pack, plans and building instructions.

The Photo's above are of Chris Berry's very nice Spitfire made from the previous all built up construction kit. While there is very little to be seen between the aircraft above and the one below, the latter makes for a lighter airframe and is far easier to construct and transport.

The Photo's of the Spitfire below are by the kind permission of Paul Monk who in 3 Months has built and flown the aircraft from our laser cut kit.
