SPITFIRE Mk. 1 a

81" span for up to 40cc engines. GRP cowl and metal spinner.

THIS AIRCRAFT IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING INTERNAL STRUCTURAL REVISION WHICH WILL RESULT IN THE AIRFRAME BEING MUCH CLOSER TO SCALE,  INCORPORATING GULLWING UNDERBELLY,  THE ALL UP WEIGHT SHOULD GENERALLY BE LIGHTER AS A RESULT. THE WING WILL ALSO BE IN TWO SECTIONS FOR EASE OF TRANSPORT.

Update on this aircraft as of 23/07/08, the revised wing has been  built, and today successfully tested to 9G, the fuselage can now be constructed to suit, which should not be such a difficult enterprise as the wing has proved to be (as anyone knowing their Spitfires will readily understand). We did hope to have the complete revised aircraft kit ready for the 2008 BMFA NATIONALS.  We are confident that this aircraft WILL BE READY very shortly thereafter. it will certainly be available for winter building.

As a progress report & update as of today (20 August 2008) here are a few photos of the fuz skeleton prior to sheeting, we will have this on show at the NATS, with most of the sheeting hopefully done, the tail-feathers are done, we hope to sheet the fuz as well. Apologies for the blurred shots (they were taken without flash)

We have made a policy to hold the price of this aircraft at £245.00 as per the pre-laser cut price to those who order prior to its re-release.
