This is our new quick rigging anchor system, designed specifically to speed up the rigging of larger bi-planes (1/4 scale & bigger) with fully working rigging at the field. This system negates the need for turnbuckles, It can be retro-fitted to existing aircraft, but some of the covering will need removing, and replacing afterwards to do this. Generally, aircraft less than around 2 metre span (1/4 scale) do not need fully working rigging, but each case will need verification. This diagram is part of the easy to follow & fairly comprehensive instructions supplied with our rigging anchors. |

The photo shows the parts
supplied for anchoring & tensioning 1 wire only. A typical Bi-plane will need 6 units, 4 for the flying wires, and 2 for accommodating the interplane strut cross rigging wires (1 port, 1 starboard, see How rigging on Bi-planes really works). We do not consider these units suitable for rigged mono-wing aircraft such as Blackburn or Bleriot as those wires are generally of fixed length.
